Howdy folks. I've been wanting to find out the pin layout for this mod and I finaly got a powersupply for testing and obtained the layout from there. I'm sure somewhere online has this but for the love of Moses I could not find it and I had to manualy do this mod and research. So I pulled a 12volt lead off of a bad PS and used it for my mod. I always thought the extra 4 pins were just 12volt leads just like the 12volt 4pin lead for the motherboard but it was not so. As a matter of fact there are 4 pins, One for ground, One for 12volt, one for 5volt and one for 3.3 volts.

Per the HardOCP website,

You can also buy an adapter from here. http://www.outletpc.com/c6603.html for like $1.88 plus $8 bucks shipping which is a rip for shipping but at least they have them.

Howdy folks.

1. I have a AMD64 3400, 9700pro, 1gig cas2 ram. To play online the best I could I had to sock it down to 640x480 and turn details all off. That was to play completely smooth and competitive. Other wise, medium detail and 800x600 was ok in general.
p.s. DO NOT PLAY WITHOUT SETTING ALL YOUR BINDS UP FIRST THING. Your first time experience will not be nearly as good if you dont set your binds up right off.

2. At first, I couldnt see nor hit nothen. Everyone looked the same even in ctfs. BTW I only played 2 maps last night. DM and a CTFS map. The bounce pads were ok. The gameplay was kinda spungie gameplay. I learned how to strafe jump/run after a few minutes. I could run away from my death which proved to help me play better. :) It will take some practice to get it down pat.

3. Guns/ammo/health/armor Here is where the binds realy helped me to set first. Bad thing is, all the weapons look the same right off. It will take a few days to get them figured out. I would pick a bunch of weapons up and then click on the bind I used from q3 to get the gun I actualy wanted to use since they all look very familiar. The shotgun proved to be DEADLY but after a few minutes it seemed ineffective against 2 rockets to the face. :) The armor is nearly the same and not to hard to tell what they look like as well as the health bubbles. Ammo will take me a few to figure those out since I just ran over wahtever I saw in the intense battle. The railgun was very good BUT I couldnt hit the sky because the sensitivity was off for me. Take some teaken on that gun but I got lucky and popped a few off by the 2nd map in ctfs. Rockets were slow and I they seemed to kinda suck a little at first. But I got used to shooting (spamming) 2 of them on each side of the player and it seemed one hit nearly every time. :) Plasma, didnt kill much with that, Lightening gun was very cool and it kilt pretty ok. Pummel, didnt kill anyone but died from it one time. The slot. :) Grenade Launcher was kinda ok. It shoots like any other but its more familiar to the q1 nad launcher for looks and feel. Poped some spam shots and killed 2 people. I was proud of my CTFS skills of spammage. :)

Overall, I truely enjoyed the game alot. After the maps I felt like I just worked out. Fast paced, Killen everywherr. The bouncepads are safe for this week until people get the rail down then your toast. Btw there are a ton of bouncpads too. But the fast paced kept my attention very well. Reminded me of back in the old Q3 TA days. If you crept around, snuck, camped or just moved slowly you were toast. This game brings back the feeling of full time rush, kill, murder, blood, brains, guts and eyeballs. It was a great feeling. :)

I have been interupted multiple times through this post so I might ahve missed somethen. But for me and my rateing, I give it a 10 as I have waited for this game for over 3 years. I think the entire community, if not the world, needed this new game. There are NO other game on the planet with Quakes phyics of strafe movements, guns and gameplay/style. Some come close but totaly without the cigar.

But still my first game.

"Pix of the Month" This mod is completely and udderly worthless, useless and took up a few moments of time to make. So is socken a heatsink/fan on your led flashlight worth it? You bet!
