Well I finaly got my eVGA 256mb 7800gtx card. I chose eVGA for there lifetime warrantee plus they are shipping me COD2 for free! You can't beat that with a stick eh? :) Anyhow I have this motherboard and CPU that was given to me. Yes given, what better prize then free eh? :) The Asus A8V-E Deluxe that had a AMD64 4000+ clawhammer cpu in it. :) I socked my Thermalright XP-120 and a vantec 120mm tornado fan that is litteraly one of the best fan's for air movement. The temps are around 33c at idle and they go to around 42c under full load so the cooling is awesome for this chip.

The eVGA 7800gtx 256mb is the OC version with the ACS3 cooling system that they put on there KO edition of these cards. This card came clocked at 470mhz core and 1200 (default) on memory. I can clock the core to 505 without ANY artifact and the memory I can clock to 1450 with some texture tearing but I can run the memory at 1425 without any effects at all. Thats pretty nifty for clocks realy.
The temps on this video card are 31c at idle and Ive not come out of a program that I saw over 45c so thats realy sweet. Thats even with it overclocked.
I've set my clocks to 490mhz core and 1400mhz memory and it idles at 35c.

I overclocked my 4000+ from the default 2.4ghz up to 2.58 with default voltage and ran some benchmarks. At 2.64ghz it seemed to be flakey. It was kind of a rushed OC so even at 2.54 isnt to bad for sure.
I ran some overclocked benchmarks and here are the links to 3dmark's site.

I used 3dmark 01, 03 and 05 and Aquamark.

3dmark 01 scores - 28,965

3dmark 03 scores - 18,286

3dmark 05 scores - 8753

I was unable to post my scores on Aquamark 3's website as it is down or somethen for the past few days.

I'll say that this 7800gtx is simply the fastest thing I have ever seen ever. I can crank it to 8x AA and 16x AF and still run completely smooth in about any game running 1024 x 768. I run Q3 at those settings but in 1600 x 1200 and maintain 125fps completely. Worth the upgrade from my old 9700pro? Uhhh yeah! :)

Btw my old 9700pro on a AMD64 3400+ clocked to 3700+ speeds I would get 2,546 in 3dmark 05, 6,410 in 3dmark 03 and 21,830 in 3dmark 01. Pretty good difference eh? :)

I gonna overclock the cpu more and try to get more from the video card over the next few weeks. I'm gonna take screenshots of the temperture of the cpu and gpu and screenshots of each clock also.

When I put the mustard on this last DOOM3 benchmark, I think the heat got to it with such high settings and overclocks because I saw a decrease in frames after running the benchmark 4 or 5 times in a row. :) DOOM3 was ran in HIgh Quality Mode 8xS AA and 16x AF using the Default demo1 DOOM3 demo.

I want to say again that ALL these GAME test were default installs with NO alterations to default setup's. I only changed the Resolution only and or the AA and AF settings.
